Welcome!

One of the most surprising fruits of the phenomenal growth of the Perseus Digital Library has been the volume of e-mail we receive. The sheer number of questions, comments, compliments, and requests has left us flattered and astonished. Many of the messages have concerned the growth and direction of the Perseus Project. Some ask for specific authors or texts; others wish to know if we plan to expand into new areas of coverage. We are as diligent as possible in answering each and every piece of mail, but experience tells us that visitors to our site would like more information on who we are, what we're doing, and where we're going. With the Perseus Project quarterly newsletter we will outline our on-going work, update users on additions and changes to Perseus (in all of its incarnations), and announce plans for future projects. The premier issue summarizes some of the major developments of 1998. It's also an introduction to the mission, goals, direction, and staff of the Perseus Project. We hope you enjoy this modest effort and we welcome comments and questions at webmaster@perseus.tufts.edu or at our mailing address.
