ἀκάμα^τος , ον, also η, ον Hes.Th.747, B.5.25, S.Ant.339:—
A.without sense of toil, hence,
1. untiring, unresting, in Hom. always epith. of fire, Il.5.4, Od.20.123,al.; “ἄνεμοιEmp.111.3; “σθένοςA. Pers.901; ἅλς B.l.c.; . γῆ earth that never rests from tillage, or inexhaustible, S.l.c.:—neut. ἀκάματα as Adv., Id.El.164(lyr.).
2. not tired, “χείρHp.Fract.3; “ὄμματαB.18.20.
3. metaph., “δόξα12.178; “πρόνοιαStoic.1.125.
II. Act., not tiring, Aret.CD2.13. Adv. -τως, in Comp., less painfully, Hp.Mul.1.1:—also “-τείHsch. s.v. ἀκμητί. [α^κα^μα^τος S.El.164; but first syll. long in dactylic verse.]
