ἐκποι-έω ,
A.put out:
1. put out a child, i.e. give him to be adopted by another, opp. εἰσποιέω, D.C.60.33 :—Pass., to be adopted, “ἂν ἐκποιηθῇ” Is.7.25, cf. D.C.38.12.
2. alienate, Pherecr.65, Cod.Just.1.5.17.1, al.
3. withdraw, “ἐμαυτὸν τοῦ δικαστηρίου” Philostr. VA8.7.
II. in Med., produce, bring forth, γαλᾶς, βότρυς, Ar.Ach. 255, Pax708, Epicur.Nat.2.5.
III. make complete, finish off, Sophr.76, Hdt.2.125 (Pass.); “οἰκίας” IG12(5).252 (Paros, vi/v B.C.); τὰς ὁδοὺς γεφύραις ἐ. furnish them with.., D.C.68.15 ; “πρὸς τὰ μεγέθη τὰ γεγραμμένα” IG7.3073.101 (Lebad.): c. gen. materiae, Παρίου λίθου τὰ ἔμπροσθε ἐξεποίησαν they made all the front of Parian marble, Hdt. 5.62 ; “ἱερὰ βασιλείοις -πεποιημένα τέλεσι” Philostr.VA8.31.
2. procure, “ὅπλα τινί” Id.Her.19.4.
IV. cause, “βλαστάνειν οὐκ ἐ. τὸ τῆς ὥρας” Thphr.CP1.14.2.
2. permit, τινί, c.inf., LXXSi.18.4 : impers., “ἐκποιεῖ” it is allowable, Hp.Prorrh.2.3 ; of the weather, it is favourable, Telesp.53H.: intr., to be sufficient, LXX 2 Ch.7.7 ; “ἐφ᾽ ὅσους ἂν ἐκποιῇ μῆνας” SIG976.57 (Samos, ii B.C.): impers., “ἐκποιεῖ” it suffices, Lys.Fr.57S., cf. Chrysipp.Stoic.3.21 : fut., “περὶ τούτων ἐν τοῖς ἑξῆς σαφέστερον ἐκποιήσει κατανοεῖν” Plb.2.24.17, cf. Ceb.8.
