II. epith. of Dionysus, Cli<to>dem.21, Euph. 14 (in Hsch. also Ὑεύς , in Sch.Ar.Av.874 Ὕας ), as the god of fertilizing moisture, Plu.2.364d: cf. “Ὑάδες” 11, Ὕη. The invocation Ὕης ἄττης in D.18.260 is of doubtful meaning; Ὕης is placed among ζενικοὶ θεοί by Ar.Fr.878 (cf. Apolloph.7). (Acc. to Hdn.Gr.1.59 Ὑῆς is the correct accent.)
Ὕης [υ_], ου, ὁ, (ὕω) epith. of Ζεὺς ὄμβριος (cf. ὑέτιος), Hsch., Theognost.Can.18.
