In spite of all these drawbacks, I made alliance for
you with Euboeans, Achaeans, Corinthians, Thebans, Megarians, Leucadians, and
Corcyraeans: and from those states there was assembled a foreign division of
fifteen thousand infantry and two thousand cavalry, not counting their
citizen-soldiery. I also obtained from them in money the largest subsidy I
could.
