[734] ζείουσαν ἀυτμήν: the ἀκτίς itself is described as a glowing blast. Wellauer makes ἀυτμήν the object of ζείουσαν (cf. 3. 273). Brunck reads ἀυτμῇ. The form ζείω, for ζέω, is found also in Call. Dian. 60; cf. ἀναζείουσα, 4. 391.
