§§ 270—275. We have here a sort of peroration to the discourse on Fortune (§§252—275), in which the orator comes at last to the precise point of his opponent's remark, that Demosthenes has brought ill-luck upon every person or state with which he had to do (Aesch. III. 114). Hitherto Demosthenes has spoken far more of his “fortunes” than of his “fortune.” See remarks before notes on § 252.
