θολερῷ (“θολός, ὁ”, mud), ‘turbid,’ with ref. to his clouded mind: cp. Her. 4. 53(of a river) “ῥέει τε καθαρὸς παρὰ θολεροῖσι”. So Aesch. P. V. 885“θολεροὶ δὲ λόγοι παίουδ᾽ εἰκῇ ι στυγνῆς πρὸς κύμασιν ἄτης”,—words turbid with passion.— χειμῶνι: cp. Soph. Ph. 1194“ἀλύοντα χειμερίῳ ι λύπᾳ”: ib. 1460 “χειμαζομένῳ.” νοσήσας, ‘stricken’: this aor., in the ‘ingressive’ sense (‘fell ill’), is frequent in Attic: e.g. Thuc. 1. 138§ 4 “νοσήσας τελευτᾷ τὸν βίον”: Plat. Tim.p. 84 C “ὅταν..νοσήσῃ”.
