πρέπον γέ τἂν ἦν. For “γέ τοι” cp. Ph. 823 n.

δαίμονος, fortune: El. 1306τῷ παρόντι δαίμονι”. A gen. after “πρέπων” is very rare, but analogous to the gen. after “ἄξιος”: Plat. Menex.p. 239 C “πρεπόντως τῶν πραξάντων”. [In Plat. Rep.p. 400 B “ὕβρεως μανίας καὶ ἄλλης κακίας πρέπουσαι βάσεις”, the gen. seems to depend on “πρέπουσαι”: but might be possessive.]
