ἐπ᾽ ἄλλ᾽. τρέπε = ἄλλοις ἐπίτρεπε: Aesch. Eum. 434 “ἦ κἀπ᾽ ἐμοὶ τρέποιτ᾽ ἂν αἰτίας τέλος”; (‘would ye commit the decision of the charge to me’?) This is ‘tmesis’ in the proper sense,—where the prep. determines the special sense of the verb: cp. Il. 8.108 “οὕς ποτ᾽ ἀπ᾽ Αἰνείαν ἑλόμην ῀ ἀφειλόμην”.
