μῆκος, adv., ‘at great length,’ like “μακράν, τέλος”, etc. If we read “σύντομον” or “σύντομα, μῆκος” might be obj. acc. to “εἰπέ”, but “συντόμως” seems right. Cp. Aesch. Pers. 698μή τι μακιστῆρα μῦθον ἀλλὰ σύντομον λέγων εἰπὲ καὶ πέραινε πάντα”.
